I don't get out much, so it was a rare privilege to see Leon performing at the Deep End with my long-time heroes fdH. Leon are one of the few bands where I've been completely bowled over by outstanding drumming, and then been drawn into realising just how excellent everything else is as well. fdH have two lead singers who take it in turns, or else sing against each other, and I'd be interested in hearing Leon doing a full-scale vocal conflagration as well (wow, good word!), as their backing vocals were as seriously crafted as the lead. All in all, a very worthwhile evening. Sometimes the hype really is deserved. Alch. Introducing Leon Leon are a young four piece from Rotherham, with more energy and enthusiasm than anyone can believe. They play a blend of powerful but intelligent rock. Their songs are immensely dynamic and change from feel good rock anthems to deep heart felt swelling walls of sound that will make every hair on your body stand on end. Quite frankly the song craftsmanship of Leon is staggering. For once here is a band that are good to look at and to listen to. Leon have already recorded an EP with seraphic and plan to record a single in time for the summer. Leon now set to conquer the world this summer. Their dynamic vocals and indestructible melodies are likely to lodge in your head and not want to come out. Math Priest (The Demo Page) writing in Rhythm Review Hmmm, this is all right actually – very accomplished, confident, good ideas, good singing and playing, nice production, and I suppose you are waiting for big ‘but’. But there isn’t one, really. They are a four piece from Rotherham Way, and they are not called Krud anymore, which I think you will agree is a step in the right direction. They are on a kind of smashing pumpkins/Feeder/Ride kind of trip – there's even some stop/starting weird time signatures for you musos out there. Young Tyson has got a cracking voice, and with them being so young and good looking, I really wouldn’t be surprised if they turned up on radio ones evening session at some point in the near future. All I can suggest is to get out there and play as many gigs as you can, get yourself a manager you can trust, make some albums, make loads of money, then give me some, sorted!
